I was arrested in November 2008 for a DWI. I struck a mailbox, I didn't stop and continued home. I'm not sure exactually how much time passed before the police showed up at my house, because I went to sleep when I got to the house but, no less, an officer came and said that I had struck someone's mailbox, and if I would mind riding over there so they could identify that it was me. I did as he asked, and he said he would just give me a citation. But then he gave me a FST, and I failed it. But I wanted to know if they can pick you up from your house, never having seen you driving or know your condition when you were driving, and give you a DWI.
