ALR Notice of Suspension - Texas Transportation Code Section 524.014

Section 524.014. Notice of Suspension

 A notice of suspension under Section 524.013 must state:

(1) the reason and statutory grounds for the suspension;

(2) the effective date of the suspension;

(3) the right of the person to a hearing;

(4) how to request a hearing; and

(5) the period in which the person must request a hearing.

My son was arrested at 5:00 a.m. on 5/11/08 for DWI and release at 11:30 p.m. on the same day. Several hours after his release, we noticed his driver's license was not returned with his personal belongings. He was not given any paper work indicating his license was suspended, a temporary license or instructions as to what to do. I know about the procedure of requesting an ALR hearing. But, can we obtain a temporary license prior to the hearing?
